
According to the Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, more than 560 businesses are registered with the chamber. That number doesn’t include the many other unregistered businesses throughout Dublin and Laurens County, all of which compete with one another to win attention from their audience and turn prospects into paying customers.

Today, we’re looking at custom logo designs M&R Marketing has crafted for four Dublin businesses and organizations: Dublin-Laurens County Recreation Authority, Community Service Board of Middle Georgia, Curry Maffett Insurance, and We-Touch Visiting Caregivers. With each example, we’re looking at the why, the what, and the how, analyzing the reason the client turned to us for a new or updated logo, the design we landed on, and the results of each one.
Dublin-Laurens County Recreation Authority
Dublin-Laurens County Recreation Authority (DLCRA) was born in 1999 when the Dublin Recreation Department and the Laurens County Recreation Department joined together to create a multi-purpose recreation space for community members and visitors alike. DLCRA brings people in Dublin a variety of outdoor recreational spaces, including:
- The Southern Pines Recreation Park, a 120-acre space that includes an ag arena, ag expo, baseball and softball fields, basketball courts, football fields, pickleball courts, playground, soccer fields, track, walking trails, and the Southern Pines Water Park.
- The Southern Pines Water Park, a family-friendly water park that is open all summer long and includes water slides, splash pads, as lazy river, pool, cabanas, and concession stand.
Legacy Sports
In addition to physical spaces, the DLCRA also oversees and manages Legacy Sports, an organization dedicated to bringing travel baseball and softball opportunities to youth in Dublin and Laurens County. With registration options for children 7U-18U, Legacy Sports gives players the chance to receive top-tier coaching and compete in tournaments across the nation.
DLCRA and M&R Marketing’s Logo Services
When DLCRA approached us for marketing services, one major thing they needed was a new logo design for DLCRA and a logo creation for Legacy Sports.
For DLCRA, their old logo came with a number of issues, including:
- Scaling issues: The logo they were using was not easily resizable, making it difficult to use throughout their marketing.
- Poor readability: The logo featured a clunky white cursive font on bright blue and green blocks of color, making it difficult to read and understand.
- Poor representation: The logo was dated and did not adequately represent DLCRA’s growth, the audience it served, or the active nature of the authority.
DLCRA wanted a new logo design that would better appeal to their audience—community members and visitors ages 15 to 65 and older who enjoy activity and the outdoors. They were looking for something cleaner, more modern, easier to read, and more reflective of the authority and all they have to offer.
The Results
DLCRA
Our designers got to work, creating a brand-new design for DLCRA’s logo. Using a similar blue and green from their former logo, we reshaped it, transforming it from something rectangular to a circular design that is more versatile and fitting for various applications. There is a sense of movement to the new design, reflecting the activity and physicality that the DLCRA promotes. Plus, we changed the font to something more contemporary, recognizable, and easier to read.

Legacy Sports
For Legacy Sports, we pulled some aspects from DLCRA’s logo, like the blue and green colors. Using the L and S from the name’s initials, our designer formed a unique star shape to serve as the logomark. The logomark’s design captured the essence that DLCRA hoped to convey and perfectly matched the energy of the players on the field, the coaches in the dugouts, and the Legacy fans in the stands.

Community Service Board of Middle Georgia
The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia (CSBMG) is an organization that provides mental and behavioral health services to citizens throughout Bleckley, Burke, Dodge, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Laurens, Montgomery, Pulaski, Screven, Telfair, Treutlen, Wheeler, and Wilcox counties. CSBMG focuses on mental health and substance abuse, in addition to intellectual and developmental disabilities for all ages. The organization treats individuals, families, and communities with services and support programs that instill hope, achieve healing, and establish stability.
CSBMG and M&R Marketing’s Logo Services
When CSBMG partnered with M&R for their marketing, part of their needs included a logo revision. The goal was to refresh and modernize their old logo without losing its recognizability within the communities CSBMG serves. Additionally, before receiving the new logo, there were issues with inconsistent logo usage. The team was looking for a logo that could be used more consistently across all departments.
The Results
M&R’s designers took CSBMG’s old logo and, maintaining the colors and circular design, reshaped the icon design slightly and added highlights and gradients to the icon for better contrast and modernization. We also enhanced contrast by creating a black outer circle around the icon for the name to go.
Through this revision, Community Service Board of Middle Georgia was able to keep all the familiarity and recognizability of the previous logo while updating the brand with a redesign that elevates the look and carries the organization forward with a more modern yet still classic look.

Curry Maffett Insurance
Curry Maffett Insurance is an independent insurance agency in Dublin, GA, that offers a comprehensive suite of insurance options, including business car insurance, personal car insurance, homeowners’ insurance, life insurance, business liability insurance, and workers’ compensation insurance. It’s local, it’s community-driven, and, most of all, it can handle all of its clients’ insurance needs.
Curry Maffett Insurance and M&R Marketing’s Logo Services
When Curry Maffett approached M&R, one of its biggest missions was to design a new logo that would better reflect the company. Its current logo was more or less bland, simplistic, and did not capture the unique or sophisticated qualities that the company brought to the table for its clients.
The Results
At the time of the rebrand, Curry Maffett Insurance was relocating to a historic building in downtown Dublin, GA. M&R’s designers had the opportunity to tour the new building to gather inspiration and came back to the office with design ideas that would emphasize the company’s one-of-a-kind, professional qualities.
The building features a unique bay window that stands out to any of the cars or pedestrians passing by. Its darker coloring and interesting design make it instantly recognizable to those who see it. Inspired by its uniqueness, our team created a logo icon that features the bay window to play on the unique, one-of-a-kind service that Curry Maffett offers its clients. Plus, with a new color scheme and typography, we created a design that emphasized the agency’s sophistication and professionalism.

We-Touch Visiting Caregivers
We-Touch Visiting Caregivers is an agency that provides at-home nursing care services for aging adults and family members. In business for more than 20 years, the agency is comprised of genuine, empathetic, compassionate people who uphold the well-being of their clients’ loved ones. The agency offers compassionate care and services that include personal care, hospice support, respite services, skilled nursing, companion sitting, errand services, and many others.
We-Touch Visiting Caregivers and N&R Marketing’s Logo Services
We-Touch Visiting Caregivers approached M&R in 2021 with interest in a logo redesign. It felt that its current logo was bland, limiting, and did not reflect the gentle, compassionate, yet professional care that the agency provided to its clients. The agency is all about quality interactions with clients and their loved ones. It’s in the business of interacting with people, bringing them more than care, but also instilling comfort and peace of mind. It wanted a logo that reflected that—something more friendly, welcoming, and thoughtful.
The Results
Our designers put a lot of focus into the color scheme of the logo and the icon design to craft something compelling, soft, and in line with the client’s goals. During the process, our team came up with the winning logo design, which featured:
- The icon, made up of two human-esque figures coming together to form the W of “we.” The icon represents the interactions that We-Touch has with its clients.
- The colors, which included a soft purple gradient and a soft, muted red. Along with the religious undertones that purple conveys, the purples used in the logo reflect the calming peace that We-Touch delivers. The red, requested by the client, was muted to match the softness of the purple and the logo design overall.
