Generational Child Care

Foster Care Services

Generational Child Care is a foster care agency based in Macon, GA, that serves foster children and foster parents throughout Middle Georgia and beyond. In operation since 2014, Generational Child Care works diligently to place foster children and teens in Georgia in safe, stable homes and to help Georgia’s qualified individuals and families become loving foster parents.

Growing up, Tanteneya Harpe and Phoresha Horne watched their mother, Kimberly Hollis, provide compassionate care to those in need through her in-home care agency. Inspired by her selfless care for others, these sisters began developing a dream to provide compassionate service of their own to foster families and foster youth inside and outside the Middle Georgia area.

In December 2014, that dream came true when they launched Generational Child Care, a Macon-based foster care agency with one mission: Joining children to families with love.
In 2024, Generational Child Care celebrated 10 years of providing care, support, and stability to foster youth, foster parents, and all others involved in the foster care system, and they aren’t slowing down any time soon. The agency’s number-one goal is to continue having a positive influence on the lives of the children, families, staff, and communities it serves while staying true to its core values of care, partnership, trustworthiness, and quality.

Why Foster Care?

To understand the importance of Generational Child Care’s work in our community and within our state, it’s vital to examine our current foster care landscape.

Georgia and Bibb County Foster Care Stats

  • In 2024, Georgia saw 12,213 children in foster care. (Data provided by SHINES*)
  • In 2024, there were 5,277 foster homes in Georgia. (Data provided by SHINES*)
  • In 2024, Bibb County saw 244 children in foster care. (Data provided by SHINES*)
  • In 2024, there were 126 active foster homes in Bibb County. (Data provided by SHINES*)

*Georgia SHINES is a comprehensive web-based tool that case managers and agencies use to help children and families in the state’s foster care system. It is a statewide automated child welfare information system the provides accurate and crucial welfare stats and information for the state of Georgia.

Even though Bibb County has more than 100 active foster homes, it’s not enough to meet the growing needs of our foster care system and the children in desperate need for reliable, stable care. Generational Child Care helps bridge the gap by recruiting and training foster families to welcome foster children, from infants to teenagers.

The Need

In November 2022, Generational Child Care approached M&R with a desire to improve their marketing efforts, especially through digital channels like social media, Google ads, and YouTube advertising. The goal was to improve Generational Child Care’s reach and increase the number of new foster parents recruited by the agency.

Our Solutions

M&R crafted a digital-focused marketing plan designed to capture their audience’s attention and encourage interested parties to officially register as foster parents in the state of Georgia.
