M&R Marketing, based in Macon, GA, is currently hiring for the full-time, in-house position of Business Development Manager. This position is available immediately.

Experience & Skillsets

The ideal applicant should possess the following experience and skillsets:

  • Sales experience relevant to the position responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and in-person communication
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, 4-year institution
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and detail focused

Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for cultivating new leads who match M&R’s target market, converting them to clients, and working cooperatively with Project Managers to ensure the successful completion of projects and retention of relationships. The BDM is expected to maintain a high-level of service-knowledge in order to properly develop and present proposals to leads and clients.

 

The following account-specific tasks are critical to the success of this position:

Lead Development

  • Utilize personal network to gain contact with prospective clients
  • Build outreach strategies and leads lists and effectively approach primary decision maker
  • Accept and serve all assigned inbound leads (word-of-mouth, marketing efforts, referrals, etc)
  • Qualify inbound leads based on our defined target market
  • Create discovery briefs to be used by M&R’s internal team

Proposal Presentation & Follow Up

  • Develop and present custom proposals to leads and clients based on their specific needs
  • Possess a deep understanding of how specific services will help promote a business in the most effective way possible
  • Effectively utilize M&R’s CRM to track sales pipeline and progress towards business development goals
  • Employ an effective follow-up process with all leads and clients with the goal of converting

Client Management & Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients
  • Effectively discover the goals and needs of clients
  • Develop strong marketing strategies and solutions based on client needs
  • Strategize ways to reengage relationships with inactive clients
  • Create discovery briefs to be used by M&R’s internal team
  • Communicate the goals and vision of a project to the M&R creative team to ensure the client’s needs and expectations are exceeded
  • Oversee the management of projects from beginning to end
  • Regularly communicate with your book of business

Client Retention

  • Explain to clients how specific services will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible
  • Evaluate service reporting and discuss with client and digital strategist as a part of client retention and growth
  • Deliver proposals to existing clients to help increase the growth of their business and improve account retention with M&R
  • Analyze customer satisfaction scores and follow-up with clients as necessary

Partner with Project Manager

  • Effectively introduce client to Project Manager as a secondary point of contact
  • Partner with Project Manager in multiple ways as it relates to leads and clients

Community Engagement

  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in our target market communities
  • Attend community networking events
  • Stay up to date on community news and activities within all key markets
